171 Cedar Arts Center presents an exhibition of paintings by Wilson Ong and
digital images by Daniel McPheeters. A gallery talk and opening reception
is set to take place Friday, February 12. Both artists will be present and will talk about their work from 5:30 - 6:00 PM;
A reception follows from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. The public is invited to attend. Refreshments will be served.
"Private Shadows and Dreamscapes" is a collection of thoughtful works inspired
by contemplation. Ong's figurative oil paintings feature symbolic motifs with emotional undercurrents. McPheeter's carefully
constructed landscapes seek to illuminate the underlying order (and the beauty of that order) that exists all around us.
While actively seeking to characterize various aspects of reality the work of both artists takes on appealing narrative qualities.
