2010 Private SHADOWS and DREAMSCAPES

171 Cedar Arts Center presents an exhibition of paintings by Wilson Ong and digital images by Daniel McPheeters.

A gallery talk and opening reception is set to take place Friday, February 12. Both artists will be present and will talk about their work from 5:30 - 6:00 PM; A reception follows from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. The public is invited to attend. Refreshments will be served.

"Private Shadows and Dreamscapes" is a collection of thoughtful works inspired by contemplation. Ong's figurative oil paintings feature symbolic motifs with emotional undercurrents. McPheeter's carefully constructed landscapes seek to illuminate the underlying order (and the beauty of that order) that exists all around us.  While actively seeking to characterize various aspects of reality the work of both artists takes on appealing narrative qualities.

Wilson Ong, of Corning NY, has a Fine Arts Degree from Brigham Young University, attended New York City's Art Students' League and has studied with figurative artists Ted Seth Jacobs and Harvey Dinnerstein. He has exhibited around the country, created commissioned paintings and taught workshops. Visit Wilson Ong online at http://www.wilsonong.com/ .
